“What we are nowadays hearing of the language of spectra is a true 'music of the spheres' in order and harmony that becomes ever more perfect in spite of the manifold variety.”
-Arnold Sommerfeld-The EUCMOS meetings can be traced back to 1947, when Reinhard Mecke organized a congress under the auspicies of the informal European Molecular Spectroscopy Group, in Konstanz. Since then, every two years an EUCMOS meeting has been held in different places in Europe. EUCMOS is one of the most important events in the field of Molecular Spectroscopy, and has given a great contribution to the development of this field of science. It has been like this for more than 70 years, and this is also our mission for the future.
